Terms of Service
Draft — pending legal review
This is the version currently in force in the Plastic app. It has not yet been reviewed by a lawyer, and it will change.
Version 2026-10-04 · effective 4 October 2026
1. What Plastic is
Plastic is operated by NORSECODE CONSULTING, LLC, doing business as Plastic. These terms are an agreement between you and NORSECODE CONSULTING, LLC.
Plastic puts you at a table with other people for an event of games at a real venue. You book a seat for a date and a time window; we decide who sits together and where.
Plastic is not a dating app. We do not match people for romance, we do not show you who is coming before you arrive, and we do not let you choose your table. Nothing you do after an event pairs you with anyone. Blocking someone means you will never be seated together again. Everything else you choose afterwards — whether to share your photo with a particular person — changes only what that person can see, never who you are seated with.
You must be 21 or over. Plastic is not for anyone under 21. You must complete an identity check before you can book. This is enforced by the system, not merely asked of you.
2. Your account
You need an account, a verified identity and a saved payment method before you can book.
Keep your login details to yourself; you are responsible for what happens on your account. Tell us if you think someone else has access to it.
One account per person. We prevent re-registration after a ban by comparing a one-way hash of the identity document — see the privacy policy for exactly what that is and is not.
3. Booking, and when you are charged
You are not charged when you book. You are charged when your table is set — that is, when we have actually formed a group for you.
This matters, and it is the heart of the deal: if we never form a table for you, you are never charged.
What happens to your money
| What happens | Your money |
|---|---|
| We form a table for you | You are charged at that point |
| We never form a table | You are not charged |
| You cancel more than 6 hours before the start | Full refund, or no charge if we had not charged you yet |
| You cancel within 6 hours of the start | No refund |
| The venue falls through | Full refund and a credit worth half of what you paid |
| Nobody checks in | Everyone is refunded |
| Only one or two people check in | Everyone who turned up is refunded. People who did not turn up are not |
| Exactly three people check in | The event goes ahead and all three are refunded |
If we add someone to a table late, we stop doing so six and a half hours before the start — half an hour before the refund deadline — so that anybody seated at the last minute still has a real chance to cancel for a full refund.
Refunds
Refunds go back to the card you paid with, through Stripe. They usually take a few days to appear, which is Stripe's and your bank's timing, not ours.
If a refund fails, we will tell you so plainly, and a human will sort it out. We will not tell you money is on its way when it is not.
4. The event itself
Where. You are told the area when you book. The venue and its address are revealed only once your table is set — that is, once we have seated you with a group and taken payment — and only to the people seated at that table.
Checking in. You check in at the venue through the app. We use your phone's location to confirm you are there. If your phone cannot provide a location, or you are just outside the radius, you can confirm you are there and carry on — we record that you did.
Arriving late or not at all. If you do not check in, the rules in section 3 apply. A table of fewer than four cannot run the full event.
During the event, the app runs the games. You can pause and rejoin from the table's status bar.
5. How you must behave
Be decent to the people at your table. In particular:
- no harassment, intimidation or unwanted contact;
- no discrimination;
- do not photograph or record anyone without their agreement;
- follow the venue's rules — they are someone else's premises;
- do not use Plastic to sell anything, recruit anyone, or promote anything;
- do not come to an event impaired to the point of being a problem for other people.
If someone makes you uncomfortable, block them or report them in the app. A block is immediate, permanent and silent — the other person is not told — and you will never be seated with them again. A report goes to us.
6. Suspension and banning
We may suspend or permanently ban an account for breaking section 5, for attempting to evade a ban, for fraudulent payment activity, or where we believe someone presents a risk to other people.
A ban is enforced against the identity document, not just the account, so creating a new account with the same document will not work.
If you are banned with a paid, upcoming booking, that booking is cancelled and refunded.
We will tell you when we suspend or ban you.
You may ask us to review it. Email support@playplastic.app and a person will look at it. We do not promise a particular outcome or a particular turnaround, but a real person reads every request.
7. Credits
Where we owe you a credit — currently only when a venue falls through — it is worth half of what you paid, is valid for 90 days, and is applied automatically to your next booking. Credits have no cash value and cannot be transferred.
8. What we do not promise
We will do our best to form you a table, but we cannot promise to. If we cannot, you are not charged.
We do not vet the people you will meet beyond verifying that they are who they say they are and are over 21. We do not run criminal background checks. Use the same judgement you would use meeting anyone new.
We are not responsible for the venue, its food and drink, or its premises.
The service is provided as it is.
This section is being finalised with our lawyer.
9. Your content
You keep ownership of what you put in — your profile, your photo, your venue suggestions. You give us permission to use it to run the service: to show your profile to your table, and to show your photo to someone you have chosen to share it with.
You can delete your account and your content. See the privacy policy for what survives deletion and why.
10. Changes to these terms
We will tell you in the app before a material change takes effect. Continuing to use Plastic after that means you accept it.
11. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of the State of Arizona, where NORSECODE CONSULTING, LLC is registered.
